What brief you need to estimate a bot build quickly
A short checklist for clients: what to write in the request to get a clear timeline and budget estimate.
A good brief saves days of back-and-forth. A weak one turns estimation into guesswork. Below is what actually helps start fast.
Minimum in the request
- What problem the bot or service should solve
- Whether there is existing code, a reference, or only an idea
- Whether you need payments, subscriptions, admin, cabinet
- Which integrations already exist or are planned
- Preferred timeline and work format
Even 8-10 sentences on these points already give a usable picture. Screenshots, bot links and competitor examples speed estimation up even more.
What I clarify next
Risks in existing code, expected load, interface languages, and who handles support after launch. That is usually where the fork appears: a short-term MVP or full production with reliability headroom.
Bottom line
The more concrete the request, the more honest the estimate and the fewer mid-project changes. Filling the site form is enough for a first reply.
